Data Matching is a process in which simulation models are calibrated by minimizing any of a variety of different error measures. The iSIGHT-FD Data Matching component allows target data to be visualized and compared with any simulation results. The target data could be experimental results or simulation results generated by a higher fidelity code.
The Data Matching component provides input support for numerical array parameters generated upstream in the workflow as well as ASCII text file data. It provides output support for numerous error measures including sum of absolute difference, sum of absolute area difference, sum of the squared difference, maximum difference, minimum difference, position of maximum difference, position of minimum difference, and sum of the difference over target. To compute these error measures, the Data Matching component provides automatic data point interpolation so that simulation and target data need not be evaluated at the same dependent variable vector.
